Surya Yoga participated in many charity events throughout the years.
We take much pride in providing for those with much less than what we have. Lily, a Surya Yoga instructor has helped societies to build schools in Myanmar. These societies that Lily participated in helps as well in training new teachers to better educate the children in Myanmar. To build up funds, Lily did her very own 'Cane Workshop' whereby students do yoga poses using a cane. Many participated, and the workshop was a success.

Lily also joined the Abha Sevasadan Project in Oct 2009 in India. This project works on poor villages in India. Their target is to build small medical centers to help malnourished children. Stricken by poverty, many babies are born with birth defects. Many are not even able to walk because their bones are deformed or do not have full grown bones. Children in these poor villages in India, need treatment urgently but have no nearby medical facilities to go to. Many parents suffer under the hot sun for many many hours to walk to the closest center, more often than not, carrying their sick child on their backs. The Abha Sevasadan Project aims to not only build small medical centers, but also mobile medical facilities.

Surya Yoga launched as well a '60's' night to raise funds for the Mt. Abu project in Rajestan, India. This project focuses on providing malnourished children in 20 selected villages around Mt. Abu, a meal a day. The funds our Surya Yoga family managed to raise provided not only meals for these malnourished children, but also winter clothing to help them get through the cold season.

Focusing on Malaysia, Surya Yoga often donates to orphanages such as the House of Joy in Puchong. Funds are collected as well to aid the senior citizens at the old folks home in Semenyih.
