Acro-yoga

Have you heard of Acro-yoga
It's rather popular these days among skilled and experienced yoga practitioners.

What is it all about? Acro-yoga basically blends elements of yoga, acrobatics, performance and healing arts.

Acro-yoga cultivates trust, connection and playfulness between partners!

There are 3 primary roles in an Acro-yoga practice.

Base : This person has the most contact with the ground providing stability and grounding. Most times, this person is lying on the ground with the entire back torso in full contact enabling both arms and legs to be "bone-stacked" for maximum stability and support for the Flyer. Main points of contact with the flyer are the feet and the hands.

Flyer : Flyers represent freedom and dynamic balance. This person is elevated off the ground by the base. The flyer will be moved into a series of dynamic positions and in a sense, lets gravity do the work for them. What do you need to be a flyer? Balance, core strength and ultimately, confidence.

Spotter : Providing safety and guidance, this person has an objective view of the partners focusing entirely on ensuring that the flyer lands safely in case of any slips.

What does Foo have to say about Acro-yoga?

"Acroyoga is for everyone. It is not just about doing acrobatic stunts, but more than that. It helps to connect each individual with another being. Learning to trust and build better communication.  For couples, it helps to strengthen your bond, physically and mentally. All that while having tons of fun and sweat. What other better way to build relationships!!!! "
