Me, Myself-esteem and I

Ask yourself:
What if you didn't
have to change anything
about yourself?

Our uniqueness should be celebrated, yet most of us are bombarded daily with messages and images of how women should look like, a judgmental mould which women need to match to measure our self-worth. Statistics tell us that more than 80% of women are dissatisfied with their bodies, and are constantly struggling with their weight and self –esteem; two issues which unfortunately strongly connected.

Learning to love ourselves for what we are -is neither easy nor quick task to accomplish – it takes a lot of trial and error to finally accept who we are and the body that we have. Instead of trying to meet society’s impossible standards of female beauty, we need to build confidence in ourselves – which is the foundation to achieving what we truly want out of life and letting go of all the needless worries of vanity. We need to constantly give ourselves affirmations of how special we truly are. Our beauty should be our source of confidence, not anxiety

That’s not to say that you can’t improve yourself, especially if your weight is compromising your health, but no matter what body you have, whether you need to get in shape or not, you can love it for everything that it already is.

And what if you only made changes based on self-love? Make only the changes that are making US happy. Accept the challenges of lifestyle changes not because there’s something wrong with us right now, but simply because we ENJOY the gratifying progress and the rewarding journey it takes us. Once we stop the "fixing" ourselves mentality, we become free to invent the full lives we can actually enjoy.

Let us find the peace and serenity of our lives, buried though it may be under many layers. Accept this place where you are on your life’s journey and live with joy and relish.
