How to Make Naturally Flavored Water



Naturally flavored water might just be the trick that will help you drink those required 8 glasses a day! It is packed with tons of vitamins and certainly tastes heavenly. Chuck away gassy drinks and cordials. It's time for a healthier alternative. They keep rather well too, usually up to 3 days. No more plain boring water for me! It's indeed refreshing and of course, all natural.



What do you need to make naturally flavored water?

  • Fruit - good and ripe fruits for maximum taste and sweetness. you may any kind of citrus and berries.
  • Herbs - surprisingly complements the fruit flavours
  • Jars or pitchers  
  • Fruit infusion pitchers (optional) - which provides a tidy way to strain fruit from water
  • Wooden spoon/fork - to mash fruit and herbs
  • Water and ice

Let's have a look at some amazing naturally flavored water recipes!


Jamie Oliver's Refreshing Natural Blend

Ingredients : lemon and lime, 1 orange, 1 handful of strawberries, 1 handful of fresh mint, lemon juice and cucumbers

Steps :
  1. Fill up a jar or pitcher with ice.
  2. Add a few slices of lemon and lime.
  3. Cut the orange into a quarter and squeeze all the juice into the jar/pitcher.
  4. Throw in the rest of the orange into the jar for color and extra oomph.
  5. Use a wooden spoon or fork to mash up strawberries. Add it to the mixture.
  6. Scrunch up a handful of fresh mint and add it to the jar/pitcher.
  7. Squeeze in lemon juice.
  8. Lastly, add a few slices of cucumber


All Citrus Flavored Water

Ingredients : 1 orange, 1 lime, 1 lemon 

Steps :
  1. Cut up the orange, lime and lemon,
  2. Press and squeeze in order to release the juices.
  3. Fill in the jar with ice.
  4. Poor in water.
  5. Stir with a spoon or chopstick.
  6. Screw the top of the jar with the lid, put it in the fridge and chill.


Raspberry Lime Flavored Water

Ingredients : 2 limes (quartered), raspberries

Steps :
  1. Squeeze lime juice into a jar.
  2. Throw in the squeezed lime quarters.
  3. Add in squeezed raspberries, but try not to mash up the raspberries completely.
  4. Fill in the jar with ice.
  5. Add water.
  6. Stir, cover and put it in the fridge to chill.




Pineapple Mint Flavored Water

Ingredients : sprigs of mint, pineapple pieces

Steps :
  1. Remove leaves from mint sprigs.
  2. Bruise (not pulverize) the leaves to release the flavor.
  3. Release juices from the pineapple pieces by pressing and squuezing them.
  4. Add ice to the top.
  5. Add water.
  6. Stir, cover and chill.


Sounds fairly easy to make doesn't it? Why not give it a go? Train yourself and not to mention your family to drink naturally flavored water. It sure beats drinking heavily sugar laden drinks! It doesn't even cost that much to make!
